
Troopers: Stewart's robbery leads to 3 arrests

FONDA - Three people face charges after plotting the robbery of a Stewart's Shop in Fort Hunter, State Police said.
The convenience store on Main Street was robbed at about 5 p.m. Monday by a man who showed the clerk a knife, troopers said. He allegedly took money from the register and ran off.
Troopers said they searched the village, area woods and a nearby cemetery, discovering clothing that appeared to match the garments worn by the man who robbed the shop.
The troopers interviewed three people they found nearby. The three gave conflicting stories but later admitted to planning the robbery. They admitted the parked in the cemetery near the store and one of them robbed the place while the others waited in the car.
Nicholas B. Angelo, 29, of Amsterdam was charged with the robbery. Robert A. Brumley, 24, of Amsterdam, and Caitlyn M. Starke, 25, of Stillwater, were charged with conspiracy and criminal possession of stolen property.
All three were sent to the Montgomery County jail on $25,000 bail.
