"Little amount that child labourers receive, causes them to lose their future, which in fact, is a huge loss that we as a society cannot afford'," said Trisha Krishnan, who is also the UNICEF Celebrity Advocate

According to UNICEF, most of the children were employed because they could be exploited and it was in such workplaces there were many cases of sexual abuse against children.

Child labour can severely affect their health, safety and cognitive development. These risks can have an irreversible impact on their development, health and well being.

" Children are employed as they can be easily exploited and there is no doubt that child labour is most violent acts of abuse against children as they were being denied even basic rights like education and leisure.
