Seaman transfer plea
Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman believes Unai Emery needs to make at least three additions to the squad.
“You’ve got to progress on the season before and we were out of the top four and we were getting left behind by quite a few of the big clubs,” Seaman told Omnisport.
“We need to regroup, have a little restructure of the team and then push on, get into the Champions League again and try and improve on that each season.
“It’s not going to be easy because the big guns are quite a way ahead at the moment. We need steel in the team.
“We need a couple of defenders, dominant defenders, and a dominant midfield player.
“I think the forward side of it, you can leave that alone because we’ve got a lot of firepower there. I’m just a little bit worried about the defence and the art of defending.”
Contract announcement
Danny Ballard has signed his first professional contract with Arsenal.
The 18-year-old has been part of Arsenal’s academy since 2016.
An Arsenal spokesman said: “We would like to congratulate Daniel on his new contract and wish him well as he continues his development at the club.”
Adli boost
Yacine Adli has played down reports he is considering turning down a move to Arsenal.
The 17-year-old appeared to be on the brink of a move the Emirates and linking up with Unai Emery, who managed him at Paris Saint-Germain.
But French outlet RMC said that although Adli was in London, he having second thoughts over the switch.
However, the midfielder took to Instagram to dismiss those claims saying: "You have no idea what you're on about."
And Adli’s post also included a location tag which suggested he was still in France.

Lemar setback
Thomas Lemar is on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid.
The Monaco star was a transfer target for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger last year.
But Arsenal were unable to agree on a deal with Monaco.
And now Europa League winners Atletico are the frontrunners to sign the 22-year-old.
According to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, Lemar’s move to Atletico will be confirmed “shortly” and he will wear the number 10 shirt.
Seri interest
Arsenal remain interested in signing Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri and their hopes of signing him could be boosted by the arrival of Patrick Vieira as the new Head Coach.
Seri is valued at around £35million and is almost certain to leave this summer.
Chelsea are also interested in Seri but uncertainty over the managerial situation a deal is questionable.
