BPR&D tasked to give soft skills training to policemen

on Tuesday assigned a new task to the and Development (BPR&D), asking it to impart soft skills training to policemen across the country and identify exceptional police officials at district level so they could serve as role models for others.

At a meeting here, he also urged the BPR&D -- which conducts its research to study crime patterns, policing and other related aspects -- to provide training skills to the policemen to prevent cyber crimes and meet the challenges of changing crime scenario.

"BPR&D should work towards imparting soft skills training to all the policemen in the country. Identify exceptional police officials at district level so that they could be the role models for others. Also, impart training skills (to policemen) to prevent cyber crimes and meet the challenges of changing crime scenario," said.

A statement said a decision had been taken to set up the centre for correctional administration at the recently inaugurated for Police Training (CAPT) at "Separate Centres for training in Prosecution and will also be set up at CAPT."

The also appreciated the BPR&D for setting up a web-portal named e-USTAAD where all the training manuals, presentations and course material has been made available for users. A mobile application is also being developed on these lines.
