Karnata ex-minister Patil Shasanur passes away

Senior Congressman and former minister B S Patil Shasanur (87) passed away on Monday.  The former legislator was suffering from age-related issues.

VIJAYAPURA: Senior Congressman and former minister B S Patil Shasanur (87) passed away on Monday.  The former legislator was suffering from age-related issues. A few days ago, he was hospitalised but after failing to respond to the treatment, he breathed his last. He is survived by his three sons and a daughter.

BJP’s newly elected legislator Somanagouda Patil of Devara Hiparagi constituency is the eldest son of B S Patil Shasanur.People were allowed to pay their last respects to Patil at his hometown Shasanur. Legislators M C Manuguli, M B Patil, Govind Karjol, Shivananda Patil, Ramesh Jigajinagi and B S Patil Yetanal and other leaders condoled and paid their last respects to the senior leader.

According to Hindu rituals, final rites were performed and before the body was laid to rest, the district police team of Vijayapura fired a 21-gun salute as a mark of respect to the departed soul at Shasanur.
