The Oakland Raiders didn't wait long to end their trial run on Christian Hackenberg.

The team waived the quarterback and former second-round pick of the New York Jets on Tuesday, just three weeks after acquiring him.

The Raiders gave up a conditional seventh-round pick in 2019 to get a closer look at Hackenberg, who never played a single snap in two seasons with the Jets.

But Hackenberg received limited offseason work behind Derek Carr, EJ Manuel and Connor Cook.

Hackenberg, the No. 51 overall pick out of Penn State in 2016, was waived along with linebacker Brady Sheldon to make room for defensive tackles Ahtyba Rubin and Frostee Rucker.
