Spy Photographers Catch New Mercedes GLE Nearly Undisguised

Just last week, the all-new BMW X5 debuted and now the attention turns to the next-gen Mercedes-Benz GLE.

Spy photographers have caught up with a Mercedes GLE prototype sitting in a parking lot with very little camouflage. The headlights and tail lights remain concealed, but the rest of the body is nearly undisguised.

Overall, styling of the new GLE doesn’t change significantly compared to the current model, and continues to look like a bigger version of the GLC. It also rides on the German automaker’s MRA rear-wheel-drive platform, which also underpins the GLC, C-Class, E-Class, and more.

Inside the cabin, you can expect to see the company’s MBUX dual display, along with changeable ambient lighting and turbine air vents. Powerplants being used should be from Mercedes-Benz’s new family of inline-six engines, with the possibility of a 48V mild-hybrid system being used.

Look for more details on the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE as it should be making its debut soon, since it’s scheduled to go on sale before the end of the year.
