TN to study feasibility of 250 MW floating solar power plant

In order to reduce the evaporation of reservoir water and increase sourcing of solar power, is looking at the feasibility of setting up a floating plant, said on Wednesday.

Announcing this in the assembly, he said that the Generation and (TANGEDCO) and another company will study the feasibility of setting up 250 MW floating plant at an outlay of Rs 1,125 crore.

He also said the government will come out with a new Policy.

Palaniswami said the state's Policy will be alined with the Vision 2023 document that has set a target of 8,884 MW of solar power capacity by 2023.

The Vision Tamil Nadu 2023 was released by then in 2012.
