Union government programmes have reached all communities in India, says MP

Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, said here on Monday that the country had seen rapid progress in the last four years of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing presspersons, Mr. Kateel said that the programmes of the Union government had reached all communities in the country. Development has reached the villages in the country. Even U.S. President Donald Trump has acknowledged that India was an economic power to reckon with. The country had seen about 7 % growth in GDP. Mr. Modi had given corruption-free governance during this period. The military prowess of the country could be gauged by the fact that it had conducted cross-border military strikes. Yet, at the same time, the country’s relations with other nations had improved, he said.

The BJP was now in power in over 20 States in the country. It had provided electricity supply to 18,000 villages under the Deen Dayal Electrification Scheme. To give a push to cleanliness and sanitation in the country, 7.5 crore toilets have been constructed under the Swachh Bharat scheme, he said.

Nearly 3.8 crore people have been provided with LPG cylinders under Ujwala scheme. The government has given loans to 10 crore youth under the Mudra scheme so that they could become self-employed. The government was also providing training in skill development to the youth so that their chances of getting employed increased, he said.

Nearly 31.6 crore people in the country had been brought under banking network through the Jan Dhan Yojana. Optical Fibre Cables had been drawn to all villages so that there was better connectivity in the country, he said.

About 2.5 crore poor people have been provided with housing in the country in the last four years under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana. To provide healthcare facilities to the poor people, the government had started the Ayushman Bharat scheme, he said.

In the last four years after the Modi government came to power, it had provided grants of ₹ three lakh crore to the State government for various development schemes and projects. The Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime had ushered in an era of uniform taxation throughout the country. The rate of growth in building national highways too had increased, Mr. Kateel said.

Raghupati Bhat, MLA, Mattar Ratnakar Hegde, K. Suresh Nayak, Naveen Shetty and Udaykumar Shetty, BJP leaders, were present.
