The government on Tuesday assured the Assembly that no student in the State would be denied a chance to pursue higher secondary education (HSE) due to shortage of seats in government and aided schools.
Intervening during the discussion on the notice for an adjournment motion moved by K.N.A. Khadar, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the government had initiated moves to address the regional disparity in the availability of seats for Plus Two courses.
Moving the motion, Mr. Khadar said students from the northern parts of the State who had cleared the SSLC examination were facing a shortage of seats for admission to Plus One. Mr. Vijayan replied that the government would find asolution to the problem.
Education Minister C. Ravindranath said the government would adopt a scientific method to assess the number of surplus seats after the admission process.
