Another Kendriya Vidyalaya School (KVS) has been sanctioned for the district with the Union Human Resources Development Ministry issuing orders to that effect on Monday.
The first KVS was established in Bodhan three years ago. The new one would be set up in the district headquarters. The HRD Ministry took the decision to sanction the second KVS following a series of letters by Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha to former Minister Smriti Irani and incumbent Minister Prakash Javadekar. She had also met them to stress the need for another KVS.
Meanwhile, taking part in the review on minority welfare department here on Tuesday, she suggested to Collector M. Ram Mohan Rao to issue orders for providing free education to journalists’ children.
She requested the Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, who was also on the dais, to bring to the Chief Minister’s notice pending CMRF cases relating to Urdu journalists’ families for immediate relief. Later, she participated in several programmes in the town and attended an iftar at Classic Function Hall.
She also laid the foundation stone for boys’ and girls’ hostels on the Government Polytechnic Colleges campus and compound wall at Giriraj Government college.
Later, she gave away tricycles to students belonging to minority communities and vehicles to fishermen.
