Coimbatore: A 60-year-old man was booked on Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted the Ambarampalayam village administrative officer at Anaimalai.
According to the Anaimalai police, Sundararajan, of Kettimallanpudur, approached VAO Rajasekar for a residential certificate and the VAO issued the same.

“Sundararajan, a farmer, approached the VAO again. This time, he had told the VAO that he was suffering from a kidney ailment and had been undergoing dialysis often,” a police officer said. As Sundarajan’s relative was ready to donate a kidney, he asked the VAO to issue a certificate mentioning that the donor was his kin. But the VAO refused as the donor was residing in Tiruvarur. Following this, the farmer assaulted the VAO, the police said.

Based on the VAO’s complaint, the police registered a case against Sundararajan. tnn
