PULASKI TWP. — Charges have been refiled against two men originally charged in May after a large drug bust.

Police charged six people in the May 8 bust, which yielded cash, marijuana, pills, crack cocaine and heroin. However, most charges filed in the case were dismissed at a preliminary hearing May 29.

At the time of the dismissal, Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier said investigators obtained a sealed search warrant to enter apartments in Pulaski Township. The warrant remained sealed at the time of the preliminary hearing, so the information contained in the warrant was not relayed to the district judge.

“Unsealing warrants can expose the identity of confidential informants who did the controlled-drug purchases,” Lozier said.

Since then, charges have been refiled against Dontez L. Brown, 31, and Cory B. Williams, 37, both residents of the Pulaski Township home that was subject to the search.

They are charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy.

According to police, at about 5 p.m. May 8 officers “executed a high-risk narcotics search warrant” in two apartments at 4300 34th Ave. in Pulaski. Police arrested Brown and Williams, as well as Stephen D. Collins, 31, of Pittsburgh, Devon D. Freeman, 26, of Vanport Township, Damien L. Spraggins of Chicago and Cheyenne R. Ambrrose, 21, of Pulaski Township.

Three children, ages 5, 11 and 17, were inside one of the apartments at the time of the bust, police said.

Officers with the New Brighton Area Police Department, Beaver County Anti-Drug Task Force and state attorney general’s office had been watching the house, particularly the two apartments that were searched.

The county's Emergency Service Unit was called to assist with the warrant because investigators determined there was a risk of firearms in the home.

According to police, officers confiscated about $5,300 in cash, two cars, 128 grams of marijuana, pills, 57.2 grams of crack cocaine and 25.3 grams of heroin mixed with fentanyl.

Charges filed against Collins, Freeman and Spraggins were dismissed. Charges of possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance were held against Ambrose.

She is scheduled for trial in September, according to online court records.
