JAIPUR: If you are not satisfied with the kind of facilities at the terminal 2 of
Jaipur airport and congestion becomes a problem while checking in and getting your boarding pass, here is good news for you. The terminal 2 is going to get a facelift and the amenities would be enhanced at the airport.
Authorities are planning to open a new
waiting hall for the passengers and an extra departure gate would be made. “There has been a continuous rise in the number of passengers at the Jaipur airport. To start with, we will have two more conveyer belts, one more departure gate and a new waiting area for the departures,” said Jaideep Singh Balhara,
Airport Authority of India, Jaipur. Moreover, Jaipur airport authority are mulling over having extra terminal building at the terminal 2 of the Jaipur airport. “We are already working for modifications and extensions at the terminal 1 of the Jaipur airport. Now, we are looking for having an extra terminal building. In the next five years, the passenger load is going to be triple to what it is now,” Balhara added.
Senior officers said that the estimated cost of the new additions to the Jaipur airport is going to be nearly Rs 15 crore. “For the new terminal building, the design is yet to be finalized. It would be having facilities of international standards,” Balhara added.
