MADRID—A top Spanish court upheld most of an earlier graft conviction against the king of Spain’s brother-in-law in a case that has tarnished the image of the country’s monarchy.
Spain’s Supreme Court upheld on appeal Tuesday an earlier ruling that found Iñaki Urdangarín, the husband of Spain’s Princess Cristina de Borbón, guilty of misuse of public funds, influence peddling and tax fraud for using his standing as a member of the royal family to orchestrate a kickback scheme tied to public contracts.
