Anil Vij on Monday said 600 more
sports nurseries would be opened to further boost the sporting culture in the state. About 440 nurseries are already functioning in different districts.
In these nurseries, school students would be imparted training and equipped to bring medals for the country. Such players who regularly practice in these nurseries are paid a stipend of Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 per month so that they can meet their requirements and do not pose any additional burden on their parents.
He said on the demand of players, foreign coaches would be provided to prepare them for Olympics. So far, 400 yyavamshalas and yogshalas have been opened and more are being set up in villages.
The recruitment process for recruiting yoga trainers for the yogshalas is under way and soon appointments would be made, the minister added.
