A 299-seat next-generation Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will be operative from October28, 2018 from Abu Dhabi to Cairo.There will be four daily services providing choices and optimized timings for the benefit of the business and leisure customers travelling between the two cities.
It will also provide seamless East-bound connections through Abu Dhabi onto the Airline’s network to the Gulf, Indian Subcontinent, North and Southeast Asia and Australia.
Mohammad Al Bulooki, Etihad Airways Executive Vice President Commercial stated that since 2004 Etihad Airways had been serving Cairo, it being an important market in their global network. It is supported by historic, economic, and cultural ties between the UAE and Egypt and large Egyptian community in the Emirates.
Almost half a million guests were carried in 2017 by Etihad, with the introduction of the 787 Dreamliner the guests will receive latest innovation and technology served with genuine hospitality and greater choice.
Earlier Etihad Airways and EGYPTAIR expanded their codeshare partnership from Abu Dhabi and Cairo.
There will be 28 Business Studios offering direct aisle access, a fully-flat bed of up to 80.5 inches in length in Etihad Airways’ two-class Boeing 787-9. There will be an increase of 20 per cent in the personal space.
