SHOs have to fill data relating to accidents in APPRSP by using smart phones

Hereafter, all the station house officers (SHOs) will compulsorily have to go to accident spots in their jurisdiction. The State government developed a new software in association with iNative Solutions Private Limited to assess the reasons accurately and come out with solutions to prevent road accidents.

The Police Department organising a series of meetings for all the SHOs of three divisions in the district. Superintendent of Police C.M. Trivikram Varma and Srikakulam DSP (Traffic) Ch. Penta Rao, who is also the nodal officer for the road safety in the district, organised training camp for the SHOs of Srikakulam and Palasa-Kasibugga on Sunday.

Training camp

Another training camp will be held in Palakonda division on Monday.

According to Mr. Penta Rao, SHOs will have to fill the data in the Andhra Pradesh Police Road Safety Programme (APPRSP) application by using their smart phones.

Details such as accident spot, total deaths, reasons for the accidents, poor road condition, driving in wrong route and others have to be incorporated.

Those preliminary data goes to Chief Minister and Higher Officials’ dashboard. The information will be useful for the government to take decisions quickly whenever major accidents take place.

The officials can respond immediately for sending additional ambulances, medical teams and keeping required blood in hospitals.

‘Useful app’

“APPRSP application will be useful for common people also to know the traffic jams, alerts from the departments and others. All the SHOs expressed happiness over the designing of new software,” said Mr. Penta Rao.
