Flash flood warnings in effect across the Ohio Valley
(WTRF) - Flash flood warnings in effect for the following counties until the listed time:
- Tusacarwas until Sunday at 10:15 PM
- Harrison until Sunday at 10:15 PM
- Jefferson until Sunday at 11 PM
- Brooke until Sunday at 11 PM
- Ohio until Sunday at 11 PM
- Washington (PA) until Sunday at 9:45 PM
- Allegheny until Sunday at 9:45 PM
- Westmoreland until Sunday at 10:30 PM
- Fayette until Sunday at 10:30 PM
An additional 1-2" of rainfall is expected.
Do NOT drive through any flooded roadways.
Turn around, don't drown. It only takes a minimum of 6 inches of water to float a vehicle away.
Seek higher ground immediately if water is rising at your location.
Reports of flooding as of 9:00 p.m. Sunday:
Brooke County:
- Route 2 is shut down between Beech Bottom and Wellsburg
- Route 67 is shut down near the bowling alley
- EMA Director Bob Fowler said fire departments are pumping water from a number of basements
- No word on when the affected roads will re-open
- According to others, there is also flooding in Follansbee when traveling north
