Khuzwayo had no problems with Komphela

Cape Town - Brilliant Khuzwayo says his relationship with former Kaizer Chiefs manager Steve Komphela was 'alright' and it was 'healthy' despite his limited playing time.

Khuzwayo is reportedly on his way to Orlando Pirates when his contract with the Glamour Boys expires at the end of June, after having turned down a new deal at Naturena.

The Bafana Bafana international has been second choice for most of his six years at Naturena, and it appears he will be joining the Sea Robbers.

Nonetheless, the 28-year-old said his interaction with Komphela was professional, though he hinted there may have been one minor spat.

The coach resigned in April following three seasons without winning any silverware, and Chiefs are yet to name a successor.

"It was alright, it was healthy, very healthy. There was never a moment where we would clash with each other or shout at each other, there wasn't any of that. We were always cool, we were always alright," he said on Gagasi FM Extra Time.

"There was a time where he took me out and put Reyaad Pieterse in so that Itu will play the Soweto Derby. After Itu was coming from the stands he (Komphela) just said, 'We are moving you away from the team'.

"I said, 'No, no, no, you don't need to explain anything. We are professionals here. I understand what is happening here, we are in a pressure situation because of South Africa. It's a Derby, it's hyped up."

He continued: "So that person in the stands, they trust him more than the two of us. So, I understood that, it's fine, I'll go home. And then it's only the Derby that I stayed at home at Kaizer Chiefs. So, our relationship was alright.

"Anything you can do to me, I'm not fazed by anything. I've seen worse things besides football. So, I'm not going to be emotional about football and say, 'This person did this to me', then I'm not a right human being."
