Bengaluru leading city in tech job opportunities: Report

Bengaluru is the leading city for those seeking job opportunities in the technology sector, followed by Delhi-and in the second and third place, respectively, says a report.

According to data from Indeed, a leading job site, 22 per cent of all job postings in the originates from Bengaluru, while Delhi-accounts for 11 per cent and (10 per cent).

"Aptly named the Silicon Valley of India, it comes as no surprise that Bengaluru continues to lead in terms of job opportunities in the technology sector, given that it has in the past been the home ground for several startups," the report said.

Other top cities in include (9 per cent), (8 per cent), Chennai (7 per cent), Mohali (4 per cent) and Ahmedabad (3 per cent).

While the actively job seeking group of 20-29 year old continue to show a relatively high level of interest in the technology sector, the group is also the most actively hired. Interestingly, senior job-seekers above the of 55 are also showing significant interest in the sector.

Conversely, the 40-49 age group shows the least interest in the sector.
