Former Essar energy internal auditor moves to private practice New Delhi: Chief internal auditor of Essar Energy Magyar Kotwal has moved to private practice with a partner firm of Moore Stephens International to head Risk Consulting Services Division.

Kotwal, who started his career with Arthur Anderson, had also set up the internal audit function at Dhabol Power Company apart from spending a decade in KPMG where he was also consulting on risk management.

At Essar Energy Kotwal was leading the global Internal audit function while the company was listed on the London Stock Exchange. The Essar group is since in financial stress and some if Essar Energy’s arms are currently in insolvency.

“Mazyar brings with him a depth of experience across diverse sectors,” said Nikhil Singhi, Senior Partner, Moore Stephens Singhi. His experience with large corporations would come in handy for existing clients, he added.

Singhi was the managing partner of 78-year firm Singhi & Co until it recently signed on with Moore Stephens that has a global revenue of around $2.9 billion.
