Riverheads' boys soccer team earn three first-team spots and three on the second team on this year's VHSL All-Region 1B Boys Soccer Team, as selected by the region's coaches.
On the first team for Riverheads, which lost Friday to Rappahannock in the VHSL Class 1 semifinals at Radford University, were senior forward Josh Akinwumi, junior midfielder Jack Matherly and sophomore defender Peyton Skillman.
Making the second team were senior defender Jackson Shover and forwards Chase Huffer, a junior, and Joe Huffer, a freshman.
Senior Carlos Romero-Hernandez, one of five first-team selections for Stonewall Jackson, was named Player of the Year. The Generals' Matt Burgwand was recognized as the region-winning coach.
