Speck of heaven becomes a new destination

What does it denote to be the highlighted star on an old-school paper map, or the thumbtack icon on a computer screen displaying roadways and route numbers?

And how does it feel to be appreciated, celebrated and cherished? A place where folks breathe out, and say a hushed thank-you to be standing in the glory of the mountains?
It suggests that we as a region have conquered decades of false labels and hillbilly jokes. We have highlighted our natural beauty and rich culture to the world. Spritely, yellow buttercups dance happily in the wind where green lawn morphs into forest floor. They are a celebration of spring’s arrival and summer’s imminence.

Further the wildflowers, waves of stately hardwoods poise the mountain to river’s edge. Beams of the setting sun jump across the Bluestone throwing light on calming water trickling across rocks.

It’s but one spot in a land known for God-given grace.
