Students of Sri Chaitanya Institutions have claimed top slots in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018, the results of which were released on Sunday. Haryana’s Pranav Goyal has emerged topper, obtaining 337 out of 360 marks.
CSE on his mind
At a press conference here on Sunday, he spoke to the media along with Sri Chaitanya Institutions chairman B.S. Rao and academic director Sushma and said he wishes to pursue computer science engineering at IIT-Bombay.
He said the first rank was never on his mind, but he put in six to eight hours of preparation every day under the guidance of Sri Chaitanya mentors in Chandigarh. Pranav, who hails from Panchkula in Haryana, was accompanied by his parents, who are into business.
“He is a cartoon buff,” they revealed at the press meet.
Mr. Rao and Ms. Sushma said students of their institution bagged top ranks in the open category including first, second, seventh and ninth, while 22 others achieved ranks in the top-100 list in the open category and 63 overall, including all categories in the top-100.
Other rank-holders
Sahil Jain was placed at the second place, C.K.V.R. Hemanth Kumar secured seventh rank and Lay Jain bagged the ninth position in JEE Advanced.
Mr. Rao said his students had bagged all-India second rank in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test as well as the first rank in JIPMER national exam apart from all top ranks in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh EAMCET.
Narayana’s list
In a statement here, Narayana institutions said 13 of its students figured in the top-10 ranks in open and reservation categories.
Toppers in SC and ST categories, Aayush Kadam and Jatoth Shiva Tarun respectively, are from their institutions, it said.
Narayana directors P. Sindhu Narayana and P. Sharani informed that their students have secured 82 ranks in top-100 list across categories.
