Jose Mourinho wants to add a world-class striker to his ranks to close the gap to Premier League champions Manchester City next season.
Manchester United have already made a quick start in the window, clinching two deals - Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk for £52million and Porto full-back Diogo Dalot for £19m.
But Mourinho now wants to beef up his attacking options.
Recent reports have suggested that Tottenham are eyeing a deal for Anthony Martial to support Harry Kane.
And now according to Spanish publication Don Balon, PSG are willing to offload Mbappe and will consider bids of around the £240million range.

Mbappe only joined last summer, initially on loan, but he is expected to cost around £166m.
Don Balon claim that PSG hope that by parting ways with Mbappe, it could force Neymar to stay.
It is suggested that the asking price for Mbappe could drop to £167m with Martial to make up the difference.
Neymar has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Although his debut campaign at the Parc des Princes was cut short by injury, he still enjoyed a productive season in front of goal.
