Documents to be verified at KEA’s helpline centre

The verification of documents of candidates for admission to professional courses will be held at the helpline centre established by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) at Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering (JNNCE) from June 12.

Nagamani S., Nodal Officer of the centre, told presspersons on Monday that the documents of students who had appeared for UGCET-2018, common entrance test conducted by KEA for admission to undergraduate professional courses and that of candidates who had appeared for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) - 2018 will be done at the centre.

Every day, document verification will be done in four sessions — from 9.15 a.m. to 11 a.m.; 11.15 a.m. to 1.15 p.m.; from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 4.15 p.m. to 6.15 p.m. The candidates should be at the centre an hour prior to the commencement of the session. They should bring originals of all documents and photocopy each of the same attested by a gazetted officer.

Upon arrival, the candidates must register following which the resource persons will apprise them of the mode of fee payment, document verification, online applications and allotment process. Five counters have been set up for document verification. The KEA has deputed six verification officers and six computer operators. After the verification of marks cards, income, domicile and caste certificates, verification slips will be issued and secret keywords will be provided with which candidates can log on to the KEA website and apply.

The verification for undergraduate courses will conclude on June 26. The document verification of candidates who appeared for PGCET that KEA conducts for admission to MBA, MCA and M.Tech courses will also be done at the centre. Last year, the documents of as many as 5,354 candidates were verified at Shivamogga centre.
