A woman has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a four-year-old girl.
Amelia Brooke Harris was pronounced dead at an address in Trealaw, Rhondda Cynon Taf on Friday night.
Carly Ann Harris, 37, from Trealaw, appeared before Merthyr magistrates on Monday charged with her murder.
She sobbed during the two minute hearing and only spoke to confirm her name and date of birth.
She was remanded in custody to appear before a judge at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday.
In a statement Amelia's family said she was "a fun-loving, caring and bubbly little girl" who was "beautiful both inside and out".
Over the weekend, tributes to her including soft toys and flowers were left near the property.
Police reiterated their warning urging people not to speculate on social media about the circumstances of Amelia's death.
