May 24 meeting
KEY ACTION Council approved the purchase of a new pump panel for the sewer plant, at a cost of $4,329.
DISCUSSION The three pumps are supposed to alternate which one starts first, but it was discovered that the switch was not wired correctly to do this. Schilling Electric will provide and install the new panel with costs taken from the Sewer Capital Fund. Tuscarawas County will be notified about its share of the expenses.
OTHER ACTION
n Agreed to have Lute’s Tree Service remove five ash trees at the park at a cost of $1,650, which will come from the park fund.
n The first reading of ordinance #980 was heard. The ordinance regulates the keeping of domesticated chickens at private residences located in the village.
n Heard the first reading of ordinance #981 which regulates the keeping of animals on properties located within the village and repealing ordinance #432.

n Councilwoman Wanda Krocker congratulated the winners of the Tusky Days Festival T-Shirt design contest and presented them with their awards. Winners were” 4th place — Jacey Dummermuth, 3rd place — Cherish Rose, 2nd place — Kali Harrison, and 1st place — Vanessa Sanders. All received a check, ride tickets and a certificate to have a shirt made with a winning design. Mayor Dana Moore congratulated and thanked the students for their participation.
n Approximately 26 fish were purchased and released into the lagoon.
n Mulch was purchased and put down on the playground. Administrator DJ Meek said more may be needed to fill some low spots. He will be ordering a new spring for the repair of a playground “motorcycle.”
n Five waterline break areas were asphalted.
n Councilman Matt Ritenour reported that everything is coming together for the Tusky Days Festival that runs from Thursday through Saturday. Poles are set and ready for the power company. The office trailer was set and leveled. The Committee was also able to award their first scholarship this year to Mackenzie Sentz. Ritenour added that Todd and Brenda Pancher are handling the car show this year and plan to donate all proceeds to the scholarship fund. Ritenour wanted to invite everyone to come out and enjoy this exciting community event.
