Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao came to the rescue of the family of farmer who had committed suicide at Chandapur in Sadasahivapet mandal, recently.
He phoned Collector Vasam Venkateswarlu and directed him to sanction the ex gratia to the family of S. Anjaiah, who had committed suicide few months back unable to come out of the debt trap.
The pathetic condition of the family of late Anjaiah was reported in these columns on Monday.
Responding to the report, the Minister called the Collector and instructed him to see that the help reached the farmer’s family.
“I felt bad about the family of Anjaiah. The authorities were instructed to take the necessary steps,” Mr. Harish Rao told The Hindu.
‘Submit report’
Mr. Venkateswarlu directed the revenue and agriculture officials to visit the village and submit a report immediately to take further steps.
