Hyderabad: App to be launched soon to book cobbler at one’s doorstep

HYDERABAD: If things go as planned by the Telangana State Leather Industries Promotion Corporation Limited (TSLIPCO), an app will be launched soon to enable citizens book a cobbler or a bag or case repairer for work at one’s doorstep.

With more than 7,300 persons trained in footwear and leather technology, the corporation is confident of a considerable base of cobblers in major urban areas of the state and is planning to use the base to create a centralised network. “We plan to develop a mobile phone app for people to book leather-related work online. We intend to offer services on the lines of Ola and Uber cabs to residents of major cities and towns including Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam,” said D Srinivas Naik, managing director, TSLIPCO.

Once the proposal gets the nod, the app would aid users to call cobblers at their doorstep and get repairs done at affordable prices, he claimed.
