Scientists in India have discovered an exoplanet that has a year that only lasts 19.5 days. ????The planet known as EPIC 211945201b or K2-236b is huge, about 27 times larger than Earth, according to Tech Times. ????And while the planet was discovered by NASA’s Kepler space telescope, the team from India is the first to confirm it was in fact a planet and not some other object. ????They published their findings in the Astronomical Journal. ????And say that because the planet is so close to its star, the temperature could be 600 degrees Celsius or 1112 degrees Fahrenheit. ????Which would most likely make it way too hot to support life but gives it a calendar year of only 19.5 days. ????The find is a big step forward for India who has now joined the tiny group of countries who have been able to confirm a planet outside our solar system, according to Science Alert. ????
