2019 Audi A1 Teaser Reveals A High-Tech Interior With A Touchscreen Display

Audi just wrapped up the teaser campaign for the 2019 Q8 and the company is already moving on by releasing the first teaser video of the next-generation A1.

Essentially a gif, the teaser confirms the A1 will be offered with a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen MMI display. That isn’t terribly surprising but the video gives us our first look at the model’s all-new interior.

While there isn’t much to see, the entry-level model features a wide swatch of metallic trim underneath the infotainment system. The car also has an automatic climate control system with chromed knobs and small displays for the temperature settings of each front seat occupant. This particular model has also been equipped with heated seats which are controlled by a dedicated button on the outer edges of the climate control panel.

The teaser image appears to confirm the A1 will eschew a third display like models such as the A6, A7 and A8. This was likely done to keep costs in check and it isn’t too odd considering the Q2 also skipped a third display.

Last but not least, the teaser image seems to confirm the interior will be highly customizable as we can see some green trim around the air vents.

Audi is keeping details under wraps but previous spy photos have shown the 2019 A1 will have a more upscale and mature appearance than its predecessor. Like other recent models, the hatchback will have a wide Singleframe grille and sporty air intakes. The car will also ditch its third quarter window and adopt a thicker C-pillar.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but we can expect an assortment of turbocharged three- and four-cylinder powerplants. The petrol units are expected to have outputs ranging from 125 PS (92 kW / 123 hp) to 300 PS (220 kW / 295 hp) in the RS1.

There’s no word on when the car will be unveiled but the teaser image suggests it will debut at a special event in Barcelona, Spain later this year.
