The designers at the Fort zonal office of the city Corporation have come across no objection certificates (NOCs) in which there is a mismatch between coordinates from the airport runway and the survey numbers, leading to doubts whether these could be fake.
According to Mayor V.K. Prasanth, it can be confirmed whether these are fake only after checking with the Airport Authority of India (AAI).
In sea
In some of these cases, the coordinates were even shown to be in the sea.
Officials at the local body say that the prohibitive costs of obtaining NOC could have forced people to adopt other means to get such certificates.
Survey numbers
An AAI official said that it was up to the Corporation to check whether the survey numbers and coordinates were matching.
