Efforts made to keep Ludhiana railway station clean

LUDHIANA: To ensure the cleanliness of Ludhiana railway station, local railway officials have launched a special cleanliness drive at Ludhiana railway station here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhinav Singla, Ludhiana station director, said, “Due to ongoing summer vacation season, Ludhiana railway station will witness heavy footfall. Local authorities have also pulled up their socks to tackle with any unwanted situation which may arise during the rush hours.” The cleanliness drive will continue till June-end.

Singla said, “We have made an appeal to all authorities as well as rail commuters to maintain the cleanliness of the Ludhiana railway station so that passengers who have to wait in case of train delay would not face any type of inconvenience.”

It was further added that new sweeping machines have been deployed at city railway station to increase the level of the cleanliness, more and more staff in sanitation department have been recruited in the past few days in view of the summer season to ensure that passengers do not face any problem.
