Farmers’ awareness campaigns to be conducted on June 20 in Haryana

Farmers’ awareness campaigns would be conducted at village, block and district level from June 20 to July 15 in Haryana under the supervision of senior officials.

Haryana Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Abhilaksh Likhi on Sunday said that under the campaign, awareness about negative effects of burning of stubble and alternatives of burning would be generated among the farmers.

Likhi held a meeting with all the Deputy Directors of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare department and Horticulture department of districts and officers through video conferencing.

He directed the officers to achieve cent per cent target of generating awareness about welfare schemes being run for farmers.

He said that under the awareness campaigns from June 20 to July 15, seminars would be organised in districts and the Deputy Directors of departments would ensure maximum participation of farmers.

He also directed the agricultural officers to get the work of Soil Health Cards fully completed at the earliest.

The officer asked them to ensure that maximum farmers get enrolled in Fasal Bima Yojana so that in case of damage of crops, they could be compensated for crops loss. He said that the farmers should be provided with information of modern agriculture from time to time.
