Case trounces Monomoy in Div. 3 softball action

Fallon Marchand went 2-for-4 with a single and a grand slam as sixth-seeded Case thumped No. 3 Monomoy 11-2 in Division 3 South Sectional softball action Sunday afternoon.

Case will play 15th-seeded Coyle-Cassidy on Tuesday at Taunton High School in the sectional semifinals. The time is to be announced.

The Cardinals finished with nine hits as Riley Fitzgerald and Madyson Medeiros also collected two apiece.

Defensively, the Cardinals played error-free ball.
