Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah today said the centre and Chhattisgarh government were not only fighting the Maoists but also ensuring that supplies to them are cut off to effectively contain the spread of their activities. Addressing a press conference at Ambikapur in Sarguja district in North Chhattisgarh, Mr Shah said Chhattisgarh has been able to contain Maoist activities. He said Maoists in Bastar are not getting support and raw materials. Shah said the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is getting support from all sections of the society and the people of the country see this government as a ray of hope. He said 14th finance commission had allocated 1.37 lakh crore to the state of Chhattisgarh, which is a three-fold increase as compared to previous allocations. The BJP president said Chhattisgarh, under the leadership of chief minister Raman Singh has become the first zero power cut and power surplus state. Chief Minister Raman Singh, state BJP president Dharamlal Kaushik, BJP national general secretaries Ramvichar Netam, Saroj Pande and Dr Anil Jain were among those present.
