For the second time in less than two weeks, court dates have been moved in a murder case that involved a man’s body being dumped in Gratiot County.
Joseph Robert Zoran, 37, from Gaylord, was arrested in March in the death of 67-year-old Robert Jack Counterman Jr., whose last known address was in Gaylord and whose body was found in a trash bag in Seville Township.
A probable cause conference Thursday in Otsego County District Court was adjourned due to more time being needed, according to court records. It will continue at 1 p.m. on June 21 in the district court.
The preliminary examination will now take place at 1:30 p.m. on June 22 in the district court.
It was originally scheduled for June 14 but was moved to a later date because of the unknown number of witnesses the prosecutor will present in the case, said defense attorney Warren Wahl on Monday.
These court dates cover both of Zoran’s cases, one being a murder and the other being for possession of child sexually abusive material.
