MUMBAI: MIDC police have arrested a 30-year-old security guard for killing his colleague late on Sunday.

Vashisht Pandey allegedly committed the offence after discovering Vijay Shukla (34) was having an affair with his wife.

After killing Shukla in the premises of Sunpharma Pvt Ltd at Andheri (East), Pandey went to the police station and claimed someone had killed Shukla.

Shukla was rushed to hospital, but declared dead on admission. “Both hailed from Uttar Pradesh. Pandey used an iron rod to kill Shukla while he was asleep,” said DCP (Zone X) Navinchandra Reddy.

Blood stains on his shirt were the giveaway. Pandey later confessed to the crime.
