The Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2018- Hardware edition will be held from 18th to 22nd of this month. The Hardware edition is the innovative initiative by the Human Resources Development Ministry to provide national platform to young technical minds to showcase their innovations and creative products.

Briefing media in New Delhi this afternoon, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said the grand finale will take place simultaneously at 10 institutions, including IITs of Kanpur, Kharagpur, Guwahati, CEERI Pilani, IISc Bengaluru among others.

After two internal rounds of evaluation, 106 teams have been shortlisted to compete under the 10 themes. The winning team will get a cash prize of one lakh rupees, first runner up will win 75 thousand and second runner up will win cash prize of 50 thousand rupees.
