Odisha Urban Infrastructure Development Fund approval for 153 projects

BHUBANESWAR: The Board of Trustees of Odisha Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (OUIDF) gave its approval to 153 projects worth Rs 531.17 crore for different urban local bodies (ULBs).The projects approved for financial assistance from OUIDF include the inter-State bus terminus (ISBT) at Baramunda in the city and LED lighting projects for 118 urban areas including five municipal corporations.

While the proposed state-of-the-art bus terminus is estimated to cost Rs 174.34 crore, the Odisha Government will bear 40 per cent of the project cost while another 40 per cent will be taken as loan from OUIDF. The remaining 20 per cent of the project cost will be sourced from BDA’s CDP Infrastructure Development Fund (CIDF).

A meeting of the OUIDF Trust Board chaired by Chief Secretary AP Padhi here on Thursday approved financial assistance of  Rs 227.30 crore for LED street lighting of 113 urban centres and Rs 48.63 crore for five municipal corporations of the State.

The Board also sanctioned Rs 80.90 crore for renovation of 34 water bodies in eight ULBs. The meeting also gave in-principle approval to the Urban and Housing Development department’s proposal for revival of another 93 water bodies

The Chief Secretary asked the department to submit detailed project proposals of the renovation works.
