HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old man whose parents did not allow him to stay with them as he had married ‘out’ of caste, on Sunday climbed a cellphone tower at Mothkur village in Yadadri Bhongir and threatened to commit suicide. However, the Mothkur police convinced him and brought him down. He was counselled and sent home.
D Upendra Chary, around ten years ago, married his girlfriend who belonged to another caste, against his parents’ wishes. Since then, his parents did not allow him to visit their house or stay with them.
On Sunday, Chary along with his wife and children went to his parents’ house in Mothkur and asked them to allow his family members in, but his father refused. Upset over this, Chary climbed the tower threatening his parents to commit suicide.
