Hyderabad boys bag top rank in ST category, 11 in general quota

This year, a total of 11,279 seats are on offer at the various IITs across the country. A total of 18,138 candidates have qualified JEE(Advanced), that is 1.6 times the number of seats on offer.

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad-based Jatoth Shiva Tarun topped JEE(Advanced) in the Scheduled Tribe(ST) category while Gosula Vinayaka Srivardhan from Sangareddy grabbed All India Rank (AIR) 11 in the open category. AVP Vamsinath, who topped Telangana State EAMCET this year, came 14 in the All India Ranking. The trio scored the best ranks from the State in the national level examination for entrance into IITs.

“I will be pursuing Computer Science Engineering from IIT-Bombay,” said Srivardhan. “I am interested in pursuing Ph.D in artificial intelligence. I read about it on the internet and I am curious about it,” he added. Vamsinath said he hoped to clear UPSC and join civil services.  This year, a total of 11,279 seats are on offer at the various IITs across the country. A total of 18,138 candidates have qualified JEE(Advanced), that is 1.6 times the number of seats on offer.As Express spoke to various top rankers, it became obvious that the most favourite choice among them was Computer Science Engineering(CSE) offered by the IIT Bombay.
