Andreas Otto, Member of the Executive Board and CCO of Austrian Airlines, commented: “Despite several bank holidays in May and thus less business travelers, we were able to improve our passenger numbers significantly.”
In the period January to May 2018, Austrian Airlines carried a total of roughly 5 million passengers, comprising a rise of 9.8 percent. The flight offering in available seat kilometers (ASK) was up by 4.1 percent. Revenue passenger kilometers increased by 7.1 percent compared to the first five months of 2017. Capacity utilization was up by 2 percentage points to 74.3 percent. The number of flights climbed by 5.3 percent in the period from January to May 2018 to 58,030.
