Fekir confidence
Nabil Fekir will become a Liverpool player, reckons Shaka Hislop.
Liverpool and Lyon appear to have ended their negotiations in a deal for Fekir.
But Hislop is confident the deal can still go through.
“I think there are a number of moving parts to this,” he said.
“All speculation suggests that there was an issue with the medical.
“If that’s the case then all of a sudden you’re talking about insurance, you’re talking about premiums.
“It’s not just a case of Liverpool offering more money or Lyon accepting more because, again, now you have insurance underwriters that come into play and that has to be taken into account.
“Maybe Lyon have to pay some of that insurance because he came through their academy, what not.
“So it’s not as simple cut and dry as what number you’re putting behind the pound sign.
“A lot of people have got to give and take here.
“I think, come September 1, Fekir will be a Liverpool player, yes.”
Pope to Burnley latest
Liverpool have emerged as suitors of Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope - and the reason is reportedly all to do with money.
Liverpool know a deal for either Gianluigi Donnarumma or Alisson would set them back around £70m.
And that means Pope - valued at £15m - is a far better option.
Burnley could be open to selling the 26-year-old, with Tom Heaton now recovered from injury.

Fekir had chosen Liverpool squad number
Nabil Fekir has chosen what squad number he would wear at Liverpool - only for his dream move to fall through.
According to French newspaper l'Equipe, the attacking midfielder had decided on his number with the transfer all but complete.
A £53million fee had been agreed with Lyon and Fekir had a £140,000-a-week, five-year contract settled on.
He was all set to become the second most expensive player in Liverpool history.
The France international had even given interviews to Liverpool's in-house TV channel LFC TV - but less than 36 hours later, the move was in tatters.

Salah fit for World Cup
Away from transfers for a moment and Mohamed Salah is optimistic he will be fit enough to take part in Egypt's World Cup opener against Uruguay on Friday.
The striker told Spanish newspaper Marca: "Now I'm feeling better. I'm hopeful of being able to play in our first game but this will depend on how I feel when the day comes around."
"We've got a great team and a great coach. We want to get into the next round and do things well there. The pressure was to qualify for the World Cup.
"Of course, you can then say: 'Right, we've got there, that's that,' but for me it's not like that. We want to make history and achieve something different."
Liverpool want Nick Pope
Liverpool, fresh from their Nabil Fekir blow, now appear to be hunting a goalkeeper.
The Mirror are today reporting that Jurgen Klopp has turned his attentions to Burnley's Nick Pope.
The Kop boss wants competition for the No.1 shirt and will bid £15million for the Burnley keeper.
Pope, who is off to the World Cup with England, has two years left on his Clarets contract and would be far cheaper than Brazil's Alisson, who's valued by Roma at £70m.
