Kate comforts upset Princess Charlotte after daughter SLIPS on palace balcony
KATE, the Duchess of Cambridge, comforted Princess Charlotte at the Trooping the Colour ceremony after the young royal suffered a minor mishap during the festivities.
The three-year-old princess was consoled by her mother after a brief slip on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Footage from the event shows the young royal may have hit her head on the railing as she fell, but after being picked up for a comforting hug by Kate, 36, she was back on her feet to enjoy the celebrations.
Princess Charlotte was accompanied by her older brother, Prince George, and smiled and waved to well-wishers below as the crowds enjoyed the spectacle of one of the most impressive royal events of the year.
The ceremony also included an RAF flypast, and the young prince, who turns five next month, could barely contain his excitement as the formation of warplanes roared overhead.

Trooping the Colour has been performed annually for more than 260 years in honour of the British monarch’s birthday.
This year’s event marks the Queen’s 92nd birthday, although Her Majesty’s actual birthday is April 21.
The parade officially begins after the Queen departs Buckingham Palace in a carriage to inspect the troops along a route across St James’s Park towards Horse Guards Parade.
More than 1,400 officers and men took part in the parade, as well as 400 musicians and 200 horses.
This year’s event took an unexpected turn when 79-year-old Field Marshall Lord Guthrie was thrown from his mount.
Police rushed to the former Chief of the Defence Staff’s aid while paramedics arrived on the scene.
Lord Guthrie, who is Colonel of the Life Guards, is being “well looked after”, according to aides.
The fall briefly delayed the RAF flypast as the 79-year-old received medical attention.

Much of the Royal Family gathered on the balcony to watch the ceremony, with the Queen flanked by newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who recently returned from their honeymoon after their wedding on May 19.
Prince William accompanied his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, though little Prince Louis, who is less than six weeks old, stayed at home.
Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Prince Andrew, Peter Philips, Autumn Philips, Isla Philips and Savannah Philips were also in attendance.
