Max temp close to normal in north India; rain in Raj, HP

The maximum temperature in several parts of remained close to normal today, even though moderate rainfall in brought relief to people battling the sweltering heat in the state.

The meteorological department had predicted light during the day, but it did not occur. The rainfall recorded till 8:30 am today was 4.7 mm, the department said.
