Odisha's Class XII Arts result sees a dip

BHUBANESWAR: The pass percentage in Plus-Two Arts dropped by nearly 2 per cent while that of Commerce improved by around 3 per cent against last year in the results declared by Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) here on Saturday. Only four students secured 90 per cent and above in both the streams.

The score in Arts was not very encouraging with only one girl, Abheepsa Mishra of Ravenshaw Junior College, Cuttack securing 90 per cent in the stream. Mishra fetched 541 marks to become topper in Arts.
The overall result of Arts stream showed a decline of 1.38 per cent with only 68.79 per cent students clearing the exam compared to 70.17 per cent last year. The pass rate among girls and boys in the stream stood at 75.39 per cent and 60.88 per cent, respectively.

Out of 2.3 lakh students in Arts, 1.58 lakh cleared the exam, including 94,619 girls. While 4,006 students secured first division, as many as 3,734 students passed in second division.
