DAVANGERE: President of All India Veerashiva Mahasabha and MLA Shamnur Shivashankarappa on Sunday welcomed the decision of the Central Government rejecting the separate religion demand for Lingayats.

Terming this as a good move, he said that, both Lingayats and Veerashivas should go hand in hand and achieve the demands fulfilled as going separately will be a disaster.

Taking a dig at the retired IAS officer S M Jamadar who is in the forefront of the separate religion struggle, Shivashankarappa said, ‘Jamadar has not done anything good for the society when he was an IAS officer and is now suggesting me to do good for the society, he has no moral rights’.

"I am in favour of a dialogue between Akhila Bharatiya Veerashiva Lingayat Mahasabha and Jagathika Lingayat Mahasabha, to good for the society."
